After-School at Spence's Farm
is designed to give children the opportunity to
decompress, complete their homework, and
learn-by-doing. The beautiful, open farm
environment helps children feel centered, calm,
and happy. They are well-supervised, free to
move around outdoors or in, help out in the
barn, or just read a book!
After-School on the Farm is centered in
the main farmhouse and in our extensive
out-buildings and grounds. Children eat snacks
that they bring from home when they arrive at
the farm each day and sometimes they eat items
from our organic garden. They can also receive
help and supervision with homework if needed.
From 4 – 5:30 each day they can choose which
focused activity they wish to do (i.e. work in
garden, play in the yard, do crafts, cook from
the garden, hike, work with the animals, and
more! You can also register for our Enrichment
Classes in horsemanship and woodworking for an
Children have choices!
How it Works … You get to decide what
works for you! You can sign your child(ren) up
for just one day a week, Monday through Friday,
or anything in between! As long as within Farm
policy you can even change your schedule without
penalty. We make it work for you.
Schedule & Logistics … made easy!
After-School hours are from 3 to 6 pm each day.
Serving most schools within Chapel Hill,
Carrboro, Durham, & Orange County the farm vans pick up students at
their school & drop off at the Farm. Some school
buses will drop students off at Spence's Farm at parents’ request.
Transportation: We pick up at the

for 5 days a week.
$290/month for 4 days
$240/month for 3 days a week.
$180/month for 2 days a week.
$100/month for 1 day a week.
There is a 30 day notice for
termination. Payment for afterschool
is paid the month before the service
